Disabled Access
Ambulatory disabled access information
We welcome everyone on board The Bar At Temple and are always on hand to offer assistance if required, however as the vessel was built in 1911 it has not been possible to adapt it fully for wheelchair users.
With this in mind, we are still able to welcome passengers in wheelchairs with able-bodied companions and the following restrictions:
Access to The Bar At Temple is via stairs from Victoria Embankment over the river wall from where a ramp provides access to the pier which can be steep at low tide. The wheelchair user would need to be able to access the pier either without the wheelchair, or would require able-bodied companions to carry them. Once on the pier, step-free access is available to the sundeck of The Bar At Temple.
On the vessel itself there is a watertight threshold of approximately 20cm at the entrance to the upper saloon, and a flight of steep stairs connecting the upper and lower saloons. The toilets can be accessed via steps from the rear of the lower saloon, and there is another watertight threshold between the toilets and back onto the sundeck.
Due to the accessibility limitations of the pier and vessel, wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities are not available on board and the cubicles are very small. Guests with specific access requirements are encouraged to contact us in advance so that we can provide further information and discuss how we may assist.
